About Us

We value community, student growth and active learning. We create a supportive environment where effort is recognized and students learn together. Through hands-on projects, school events, core values and strong family partnerships, we help every child grow and thrive.

Mission Statement:
At our school, every student is seen, heard and valued. Through every interaction and every act of empathy, we foster a culture of safety, connection and problem solving.

Vision Statement:
We envision a more just and compassionate school where kindness leads, respect unites and love transforms our community.

Student Life & Enrichment

Hornet Celebrations
Shambaugh students meet weekly for a whole-school assembly first thing in the morning to celebrate student accomplishments, recognize acts of kindness and service throughout the school and learn how to continue building safety, connection and problem solving into our everyday school life.

Lunch Buddies
In partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters, this program provides students with mentorship from community members.

Study Connection
This after-school tutoring program meets on Tuesdays at Bethany United Methodist Church next door. Students are paired with a tutor to continue developing their skills in reading, writing and math.

Safety Patrol
Students are selected based on their leadership skills and their willingness to promote safety during arrival and dismissal times. They assist with helping walkers cross the street and support the loading and unloading of students in the car rider line.

PTA

Parent Teacher Association

Join the PTA during school registration or by calling our front office. We hold monthly meetings where families help plan fun school events, share ideas for improving our school community and hear updates from the principal about what’s happening at school.

Volunteering
We welcome and value parent involvement! Whether through the PTA or by supporting teachers directly, your partnership makes a big difference.

For more volunteer information, call our front office at (260) 467-6150.
